This animal hair 3D design solid model is a particle effects project that incorporated custom materials and custom textures with solid modeling and graphic design components. Animal hair and fur generation is created with particle effects and configured for strand shape, curvature, resolution, thickness, taper and other 3D shape variants.
3D studio lighting was setup to enhance shading for better contrast and visibility and strand distinction. Depth of Focus was utilized to simulate a wide angle closeup and provide a more realistic photographic-like effect. 3D Materials were defined within the 3D virtual environment, while 3D textures were designed in 2D raster development software. This project can be rendered to almost any dimensions and resolution, since the 2D textures are relative and diminished resolution is not evident when the render is very large.
This level of resolution and detail is not necessary for viewing animal hair or fur at a distance or for more complex models, such as animated figures. This 3D animal hair closeup is intended for closeup viewing only, including animations, such as medical tutorials and presentaitons. This approach to solid modeling animal hair can be repurposed as human hair for medical device applications, hair care products, or other hair related marketing.
